Emergency Management

Unequal Impact of COVID-19 and other Disasters on Minority Ethnic Groups online training (EM101)

Description
Minority ethnic groups have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and other natural and man-made disasters in the US. While the exact reasons for this remain unclear, they are likely due to a complex interplay of factors rather than a single cause. Reducing these inequalities requires a greater understanding of the causes. Because Health centers play a critical role in providing continuity of care to support communities during and after natural or man-made emergencies in the United States and its territories, it is important for HC staff to learn about disasters. There are different methods to educate providers and support staff, but no method is better than others. Trained people can better protect themselves and others. In this regard, planning and designing comprehensive educational programs are necessary for health centers to face disasters.

This course will expire on April 30, 2023.
